LO’s background

During his 30 plus years of service to Bossier, our city has grown and prospered more than at any time in its history. We are enjoying a better life now and our children will have a brighter tomorrow with “Lo” in charge.

Lorenz “Lo” Walker is a graduate of Fair Park High School in Shreveport, and continued his education at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, where he gradated Cum Laude, was named an Outstanding Business School Graduate and was listed in the Who’s Who in Colleges and Universities.

Military Career

Shortly thereafter he was commissioned in the United States Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant. With over 5,463 flying hours and 325 combat/combat sorties, he knows how to relate to our ever-growing military community. Lo was a Master Parachutist in the US, Germany, France, Spain and Libya. He served as an Air Commando for 7 years. He did two tours in Vietnam and a third in Thailand during the Vietnam Era War. He has been awarded two Legions of Merit medals, two Distinguished Flying Cross Medals, thirteen Air Medals and a Bronze Star, just to name a few. Lo retired as a USAF Colonel after 30 years of active duty. Lo also has a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University and is a graduate of Squadron Officer School, USAF Command and Staff College and the USAF Air War College.

Professional Accomplishments

In his civilian life, Lo has served as the executive director of the Bossier Civic Center and was the city’s Chief Administrative Officer under Mayor Dement. He has been serving the citizens of Bossier City as their mayor since 2005. Lo is also a past president of the I-69 Mid-Continent Highway Coalition, the Bossier representative on the Ark-La-Tex AMTRAK project, chairman of the Coordinating and Development Corporation, a past member of the Louisiana Military Council and has chaired numerous other boards and committees.

Personal Life

Lo married his college sweetheart Connie Westergaard Cash in the spring of 2019. The two reconnected after the passing of the mayor’s late wife in 2015. Both have daughters from their previous marriages, Linda Adele Walker and Constance “Cookie” Larson. They now enjoy a multitude of grandchildren as well.
